Em Novembro de 2007, a conceituada revista Rolling Stone elegeu, baseada na opinião da redacção e dos seus leitores, os 25 melhores álbuns ao vivo alguma vez gravados.

Entre os escolhidos – alguns discos mais antigos e outros mais recentes – sobressaem registos do Jay-Z, Nirvana, The Rolling Stones, Radiohead, U2 ou Daft Punk.

De destacar o mérito de Bob Dylan, o único artista da lista a ter dois registos seus - "Before the Flood" (1974) e "The Bootleg Series, Volume 4: The Royal Albert Concert" (1988)  entre os 25 melhores álbuns ao vivo de sempre.
